Chapter 602 Traitor?
Chapter 602 Traitor?
"Squat down," Garfield ordered the newcomer.
"Huh?" The Star Clan member was taken aback, his face showing embarrassment. "This is too sleazy and undignified! Our noble Star Clan..."
"Squat down when the leader tells you to, stop talking nonsense!" The Star Clan member who had been there earlier suddenly sprang up and shoved the newcomer down.
The newcomer was extremely surprised and looked at Garfield: "B-leader?"
Wasn't Saint Varna fallen? Has StarClan gained a new leader? Just who is this StarClan powerhouse disguised as a human-cat hybrid?
You should know that there are quite a few Star Clan members who covet the position of leader. How dare this person openly declare himself leader?
Garfield glanced at him indifferently: "Guess why I'm the leader?"
The new Star Clan member squatted on the ground; of course, he wanted to know.
Garfield sneered: "I know what you're thinking. Of course I know that we StarClan are a respectable and noble race. We cannot squat or be sleazy. But do you know that the very nobility that we StarClan are so proud of, and the respectability that we pursue throughout our lives, is precisely the huge flaw that exposes our identity and our fatal weakness!"
"Only by crouching down, only by crouching here in a cowardly manner against this wall, can we conceal our dazzling aura and prevent anyone from associating us with the noble Star Clan."
"Our true identities will never be revealed to others!"
"understand!"
The two Star Clan members were stunned.
Is that so?
The new Star Clan member was utterly stunned by this philosophy of survival.
He was as if enlightened, his face flashing with excitement and admiration, and his voice trembled as he whispered, "Chief, you truly are the chief. You are so insightful and all-knowing. I am in awe. I will stay here and not get up unless you tell me to. I will keep my feet rooted to the wall and never get up."
A question mark slowly appeared above the head of the Star Clan member who had been there earlier: ?
He suppressed the urge to roll his eyes, thinking to himself, "You real half-bloods, you're so good at praising StarClan. If I didn't already know who these guys are, I probably would have been fooled by their long-winded explanations."
That's it.
He raised his hand and silently pressed his companion down even more firmly; this pit was getting deeper and deeper the longer he squatted.
Qin You led the "fake Star Clan hybrids" here.
He also pretended to express his pride by saying "StarClan is awesome, StarClan doesn't squat," then pretended to be "shocked" by Garfield's theory, and then sincerely bowed to Garfield: "The leader is indeed the leader. We can't even catch up with the leader's level."
More and more StarClan members were lured in.
Every newcomer was shocked to see why their companions were huddled in a row in the corner.
But unable to resist the urging of his fellow "Star Clan" members around him, he lowered his guard and was actually convinced by this fallacy.
Without much struggle, one after another they obediently squatted down against the wall, implicitly acknowledging Garfield's leadership.
"Our leader is really amazing."
They've been brainwashed.
Some even picked their noses, saying, "So what if I'm being sleazy? If it saves my life, I don't mind being even more sleazy."
Time passed slowly, and the line of people squatting against the wall grew increasingly impressive. As noon approached, two more "fish" finally swam in.
These were the two "leading figures" who had come out of Fallen Dragon Valley and were completely fooled by Qin You.
These two are really eager to become leaders! They went to great lengths, using purple bone snails to communicate and stirring up trouble with all sorts of hype, to finally get this group of conservative survivors together.
With the fruits of victory within reach and the prospect of becoming the "Lord of the Stars" imminent, he was in an incredibly happy mood.
"Everyone should have gathered at the foot of the Leopard Immortal Tower across the street by now..." The two of them, holding purple bone snails, stood down at the foot of the Leopard Immortal Tower and turned their heads.
A group of handsome men and beautiful women were squatting at the base of the wall. The strong aura of the Star Clan was overwhelming. They were definitely members of the clan!
But why are these guys squatting here? A large, conspicuous group squatting in the corner, wouldn't that attract more attention?
Now is not the time to dwell on this.
The two Star Clan members quickly straightened their "hybrid skins" that they had finally managed to put on, held their heads high, and walked towards Garfield and his group with a leader's air.
"You're all here early, sorry to keep you waiting." They greeted them in a pretentious manner, feeling quite pleased with themselves: it's only natural to put on a show and make subordinates wait.
"Why are you only getting here now?" Garfield stared at them with displeasure.
The two Star Clan members' faces twitched.
He wondered who was behind this clansman? He was quite bold, daring to be so arrogant towards the convener.
"Who are you? How dare you question us?" one of them asked, narrowing his eyes.
"Do you know that this gathering was initiated by the two of us brothers!" another said in an unfriendly tone, and the two of them approached Garfield at the same time.
Before Garfield could even make a move, the "veteran Star Clan" who had followed him first suddenly sprang up and delivered two solid punches to their faces: "Where did this bastard come from, daring to speak to the leader like that?!"
Caught off guard, the two were hit hard, their faces bruised and swollen, and their mixed-race skin nearly cracked open.
He was about to unleash a torrent of abuse, but upon hearing the word "leader," his eyes nearly popped out of their sockets, and he pointed an enraged finger at Garfield:
"The leader? Him?!"
"Who does he think he is? You all recognize him as your leader?!"
Where is the law of heaven?
They had painstakingly lured these people back from every nook and cranny, practically hoarse from brainwashing them. And now, this team they'd worked so hard to build was suddenly led by someone else? How could they tolerate that?
"Don't forget! Who went through all the trouble to gather you all here!"
"You've all gone too far to absorb souls and your brains have stopped working because you've recognized some unknown creature as your leader?!"
One of them pointed at Garfield and yelled, "Hey! Who are you?! State your name!"
Garfield narrowed his eyes, crossed his arms, and adopted an arrogant attitude that said, "You think you're worthy of my attention?"
He didn't move, but the group of "fake Star Clan" controlled by Qin You at the base of the wall all rolled up their sleeves and stood up, lowering their voices and chattering amongst themselves:
"How dare you disrespect the leader?"
"How dare you ask the leader's name?"
"With all this commotion, could you be the 'traitor' the leader was talking about?"
The word "traitor" was like pouring a spoonful of water into boiling oil, and the crouching True Star Clan members instantly erupted in anger.
Yes, the leader just said there might be a mole in the team trying to sabotage things, and I didn't expect it to pop up so quickly!
The leader had specifically instructed that those wearing this mixed-race skin should not reveal their real names to each other. When the mole tries to do something underhanded, they will hesitate if they don't know the names. Now these two guys are trying to find out the names right away... They have ulterior motives!
"Don't be fooled by them. This person's identity is unknown. Everyone must verify his identity immediately to ensure safety!" The two Star Clan members were still trying to salvage the situation.
They thought this made sense, but then...
"The two of you are the traitors!"
"We can recognize our clansmen by their scent; we don't need their names at all! As long as we are united, why do we need to know who is behind each other's skin?"
"The Astral Plane fell so quickly because of traitorous beasts like you!"
"Traitors! It's you!" Not only were the "fake Star Clan" shouting, but the real Star Clan members were also spitting fire in their eyes, wishing they could tear them apart.
The two "gang leaders" were completely dumbfounded, staring at each other with wide eyes, their faces clearly saying, "Who am I? Where am I? What happened?"
This...this isn't how they planned it!
