Chapter 1329 The Second Prisoner
Chapter 1329 The Second Prisoner
Conan gave a knowing look: "He really didn't lose consciousness."
If you're not awake, you can't leave a mark with a nutritional drink.
Alan Mackenzie, still somewhat bewildered after being released, looked around and asked blankly, "Where am I?"
Sera Masumi said, "On the maglev train."
"A maglev train?" Alan Mackenzie was completely bewildered and asked in English, "How did you find me?"
Yuya shook the beverage bottle she had just picked up and replied in English, "Thanks to you for spilling this drink, we were able to follow the trail here. Otherwise, searching each carriage would have taken who knows how much time."
They passed through several carriages along the way, and if it weren't for the signs, they probably wouldn't have been able to find anyone by the time the train arrived at the station.
Conan took out the pen he had just found and said admiringly, "No wonder he's a former FBI officer. Even when he was kidnapped, he didn't forget to leave clues."
“Oh…” Alan Mackenzie exclaimed softly, looking at the two young men and the little boy with great admiration.
Unexpectedly, the first to find him were the three of them.
Meanwhile, on the Shinkansen train
The scene where Yuya and his two companions found Alan Mackenzie naturally caught the attention of everyone who was following the maglev train.
Kogoro Mouri's eyes nearly popped out of their sockets in astonishment.
At this moment, Osamu Inoue and Ellie Ishioka arrived and asked Kogoro Mouri if he knew anything about the situation, because no one in the know could have imagined that the missing Alan Mackenzie would appear on the maglev train.
After his initial shock, Kogoro Mouri was completely bewildered. When asked, he didn't know either!
Who knows that these three kids secretly boarded the maglev train to find Chairman Alan!
"Everyone, can you hear me?" Yuya's voice suddenly rang out.
Everyone looked in the direction of the sound and were surprised to see Ran Mouri holding up her phone, which showed that she was on a call and had the speakerphone on.
"I can hear you!" Kogoro Mouri rushed over, grabbing his phone and shouting, "Yuya, what's going on?!"
Yu hissed and quickly moved away from the phone, scratching his ear and complaining, "Ouch! Uncle Kogoro, your voice is too loud, I'm going to go deaf."
"Stop talking nonsense and get to the point!" Kogoro Mouri urged.
“Here’s what happened: when the accident occurred at the hospital, he and Mr. John were kidnapped by the criminals,” Yuya’s voice came through the phone. “The two of them were shoved into the criminals’ car.”
"What?!" Everyone present, whether they knew or not that President Alan was missing, exclaimed in surprise.
Kogoro Mouri asked, "Did Chairman Aran see what the prisoner looked like?"
"Unfortunately, like the other victims, President Alan also didn't see the perpetrator's face," Yuu sighed softly. "However..."
He glanced at the surveillance camera inside the carriage, a slight smile playing on his lips: "We already know who the criminal is."
People on the Shinkansen train exclaimed in surprise.
Kogoro Mouri asked anxiously, "Then who exactly is the culprit?"
Yuya waved his hand: "Don't rush, there's one more thing to confirm before revealing the truth. Conan."
Everyone's eyes immediately fell on Conan in the picture.
Conan took out his phone and dialed a number. After a few rings, the call was connected, and Conan said into the phone, "Please."
"OK!"
On the other side, Judy, having received the instruction, decisively pressed the Enter key.
A laptop sat on her lap, its screen displaying a special dialer that listed the phone numbers of all the passengers who had participated in the inaugural maglev train service.
As the Enter key was pressed, the software started and made calls to each number.
In an instant, everyone's cell phones in the Shinkansen carriage started vibrating, the sounds of vibration, ringing, and answering calls echoing throughout the train—almost all the passengers on this train were passengers on the inaugural train.
These incoming calls all have one thing in common: the contact person and the phone number are unknown.
"Our phones rang too. Of course, Xiaolan's and my phones didn't ring because we were on a call, but we could see the call notification."
Sera Masumi, Conan, and Alan Mackenzie's phones were all vibrating, having received calls from unknown numbers.
Yu also held her phone up to the camera, as if to prove herself.
Similarly, Ran Mouri showed her phone screen to the police officer next to her for confirmation, and the officer nodded to confirm that it was indeed the case.
At that moment, Yu smiled and said, "But, there's one person whose phone didn't ring, right?"
Sera Masumi nodded.
Conan hummed in agreement and turned to look at the direction of the maglev train's front—where footsteps were coming from. He said in a deep voice, "Isn't that right, Miss Shirakawa Maiko?"
As soon as she finished speaking, the door in the middle of the carriage opened, and Shiraha Maiko appeared behind it with a bitter expression.
"Miss White Dove?"
Upon hearing the name, the people on the Shinkansen were all shocked. But when they saw Shirakuri Maiko appear on the surveillance footage, their shock turned into disbelief.
Some clever people have already guessed what's going on: Could it be that Shiraiwu Maiko is the kidnapper?
Yuya put one hand in his pocket, glanced at the phone that Shirakyuu Maiko was clutching tightly, and smiled faintly: "Looks like your phone isn't ringing."
Shirakyu Maiko said innocently, "Because my phone ran out of battery."
That's such a lame excuse. Yu shook her head and directly exposed her lie: "No, your phone definitely still has power."
"The quench phenomenon can affect the operation of electronic instruments, but if it is so severe that you cannot answer the phone, it means that your phone was very close to the source of the quench at the time. To be precise, you were right next to the source of the quench, the MRI machine, which is why your phone could not be used."
"In other words, the culprit who caused the loss of control is you, Ms. Shirahata Maiko!"
Shirakuri Maiko almost lost her composure, but she still forced herself to say, "My phone just happened to malfunction and I couldn't answer the call, so you're going to pin the blame on me?"
On the Shinkansen, Inoue Osamu's expression changed slightly. He already knew that Shirakawa Maiko's phone had malfunctioned due to a loss of speed, which was why she had switched to a different phone to contact him.
Little did anyone expect that this malfunction would become evidence used to identify the perpetrator.
Sera Masumi calmly retorted to Shirahata Maiko's words: "Then how do you explain why you were on the maglev train? Was it just a coincidence?"
Yuya chimed in, "More importantly, Shirahata Maiko, your name is the same as the katakana of Makoto Ishihara, the perpetrator of the shooting 15 years ago. Is that just a coincidence?"
Yuya's words caused Shirakuri Maiko's expression to completely break down.
Her face changed drastically; she lowered her head slightly, her expression extremely gloomy.
