Chapter 751: Drinking and Chatting (Part 2)
Han Jing exclaimed in surprise, "Really?"
"Of course it’s true. Look, here you go." Su Yaozheng opened the cabinet, neatly filled with various wine vessels. Han Jing immediately took notice, curling his lips and said, "Mother, you really are..."
So impressive, you can take so much wine out even when you’re just going out!
"The Ghost Ancestor likes to drink, so I was planning to send it to him tomorrow. Over the years, we’ve been grateful for his care for you all." Naturally, Su Yaozheng wouldn’t just bring out so many wines for no reason. However, these are her cherished collections over the years. She rarely drinks, but she has quite a stash of fine wines, perfect for gifting.
Han Jing nodded, while placing grape wine into her space ring.
Seeing that Han Jing was about to take the entire row of grape wine, Su Yaozheng laughed, "You little greedy ghost, if you take it all, you should at least leave some for others to try, right?"
Han Jing chuckled awkwardly and stopped, then took two other kinds of wine before waving to Su Yaozheng, "Mother, I’m off now!"
Su Yaozheng nodded with a smile.
Han Jing took the wine and left, and Su Yu had also come out of the kitchen, still holding the food box she had handed him earlier. She waved to him, ready to go, when she heard two kitchen maids muttering inside, "This son-in-law has emptied the kitchen, how are we supposed to cook tomorrow?"
Han Jing looked at Su Yu with a ghostly gaze.
They weren’t far from the kitchen, so it was clear Su Yu heard it too.
With a serious look, he turned his head and left, leaving Han Jing speechless.
How could he be so tricky? If she didn’t run quickly, she’d probably be hunted down tomorrow!
Upon returning to Liuyun Hall, Han Jing first took out the snacks from the food box to eat. After she had eaten enough, Su Yu finished preparing a few small dishes and brought them over.
The entire Liuyun Hall only had the two of them. Han Jing took a cup and poured wine, smiling at Su Yu, "It seems like we haven’t had a meal together alone for a long time."
Su Yu sat down beside her, glancing at the red wine in the cup, "Grape wine?"
Han Jing nodded, "Yeah, just got it from my mother. She said it was a tribute from earlier this year. You haven’t had it before, have you?"
"I used to drink it often as a child. Master liked it a lot. He was quite particular, not fond of the spicy taste of wine, so Little Junior Uncle would send him a lot every year. Even after Little Junior Uncle passed away, Master would often reminisce about not being able to drink good wine anymore." Su Yu got up to get a set of cups from the cupboard and handed them to Han Jing: "Use these."
The thin and translucent glass cups were much larger and certainly more beautiful than the small wine cups on the table. While not as ornate as high-stemmed glasses, they were equally impressive.
"What kind of person is Fengxi?" Han Jing had heard stories about Fengxi, all portraying him as infatuated and amorous. To her, he seemed a bit foolish, but hearing Su Yu talk about him piqued her curiosity.
Su Yu took a sip of wine from his cup and laughed lightly, "That’s your father. It’s not very polite to call him by his name like that."
"Hmph," Han Jing drank her wine, indifferent.
She indeed shares a blood relation with Fengxi, but there’s no real connection, just like with Han Litong. To her, they’re strangers.
Han Jing suddenly remembered, "I almost forgot—didn’t you say you had a gift for me? Surely you didn’t mean just telling me about Fengxi, did you?"
Or else she’d be at a huge loss?
