Chapter 1071

The sound of a hand ripping through flesh echoed as blood sprayed through the air.

Everybody had a horrified look at this sight. Even Kael’s eyes widened in immense horror, but the next second, he lifted a brow.

’Huh?’

He felt fine. Strangely fine.

But he could see the claws in front of his face dripping with blood.

Looking closer, he could see a man standing between the claws and him.

One hand was missing while the other held a slender sword.

Blood oozed from his mouth in a violent cough.

Mada and Gunther’s eyes stretched wide in horror.

"Leonardo!"

"Huh? Couldn’t you wait your turn?" Zodiac One uttered with disdain, then swiftly flung his hand to the side, causing Leo’s body to slide off his claws.

The body crashed into the ground with loud thuds as it proceeded to skip across the terrain like he was a mere doll.

Coming to a halt, the man’s body was unmoving.

Gunther, Mada, and Rivock rushed forward and slid to a stop before the former vice principal of the Aetherian academy.

"Leo, Leo, Leo... what did you do?!" Gunther shouted as he slowly lifted him from the ground.

Leo’s eyelids were closing in and out as he struggled to keep them open for long.

He felt strangely weak.

Even with the gaping hole in his midsection, he wasn’t supposed to feel this way, so why?

His eyes rolled to the side to catch Zodiac One’s claws drenched in blood... his blood.

Looking back at Gunther, Leo struggled to open his mouth.

"P-P-Poi..."

"What?" Mada asked in urgent panic as he pressed his hands on the man’s abdomen, trying his best to keep him from bleeding out.

But it was all for naught as the man heaved a heavy breath.

"... Cla.... don’t... touch... let... touch.... claws... you."

And then, his hand fell limply to the side, with his sword falling out of his grasp.

The trio kneeling before him tightened their jaws immediately.

Even the warriors from the Dawn forces looked down with a somber expression at the sacrifice that the man had just made.

"Anyway...." Zodiac One uttered as his claw lashed toward Kael again with blazing speed.

However, a vine shot forward, latching onto the young mage and then yanking him away just in time as the claw sliced through the air, causing even the ground beneath to tremble and split open with a claw slash tearing across the terrain.

Zodiac One stared at the spot with a confused expression, which was hidden behind his mask.

Kael was flung backward, and he landed on his feet with a flip.

His gaze sharpened on Upper Zodiac One.

’He’s dangerously fast.’

"Guys! We still have one last task to complete!" Amir shouted as a metal sword appeared in his hand, which he pointed forward.

The elite forces still had energy and they were ready for anything as even Rivock, Mada, and Gunther rose to their feet while the Dawn forces rushed over to carry Leo’s body away in time.

It was now going to be seventeen elite forces against the Zodiac that stared at them amusedly as they all shifted into stances.

Looking at the claws still dripping with fresh blood, they all stiffened immediately as fur could be seen peeking out of the baggy robe he draped.

What sort of being he was?

They had no idea.

All they knew was that he was the strongest Zodiac there is, and also called the king of beasts.

That was all they had to go by.

"Let’s GO!" Amir roared the command.

All seventeen of the elite forces, including Kael, dashed forward with amazing speed while Zodiac One stood in a single spot, smirking behind his mask.

Within a second, they were all upon the Zodiac.

Swords lashed forward from Alba, Killian, and Mada.

Yet, with impressive agility, he leaped away, avoiding the weapons that crashed into the earth.

"Graviole!" Viktor shouted as he pointed his hand forward.

The pressure around the area where the Zodiac leaped intensified with amazing force, such that even the terrain buckled and exploded upward.

Unfortunately, Zodiac One wasn’t moved at all.

He didn’t twitch nor show any signs of the gravity affecting him; he simply shrugged it off.

Dozens of wind swords were launched forward from Lyra, but with uncanny agility, the Zodiac blurred through the projectiles as if he phased right through them.

He appeared before Lyra with his claws lashing forward at a blazing speed.

CLANG!

Thalos’ greatsword deflected the claw to the side as the ground cracked beneath their weight.

Noir vaulted forward as a huge fireball burst from his jaws.

Leaning his whole body backward, the Zodiac let the fireball hurtle away to crash into the earth behind him.

His eyes caught sight of a figure descending from above with a huge metal sword.

With a loud crack, Zodiac One twisted around as the weapon whistled past him and burrowed into the ground with explosive force.

Flames roared around Raze’s hands as he thrust them forward, sending the fire whooshing toward the Zodiac, who calmly sidestepped the blast, letting it explode a few inches away from him.

He was about to blur forward when runes activated beneath his feet, and chains burst outward, wrapping around his legs and stopping his momentum.

Thalos charged forward immediately, his greatsword swinging from the side with his entire force.

WAM! BOOOOM!

The terrain exploded under the force of the swing as the greatsword crashed into the face of the Zodiac with heavy force, such that his mask blew off in an instant.

Thalos staggered backward as the face of the Zodiac was revealed.

A pair of red eyes shone at Thalos as the Zodiac smiled devilishly, unleashing rows and rows of razor-sharp fangs.
