Chapter 479 Hookup?
Chapter 479 Hookup?
Irina looked at Liam in pure shock, her eyes locked onto his face like she was searching for even the smallest sign that he was exaggerating or bluffing. But there was nothing there. No panic. No uncertainty. Just that same calm expression he had carried since walking into the mansion.
He can’t be right... right?
That thought passed through her mind almost instantly, but the deeper problem was that Liam didn’t look like someone throwing out guesses. Everything about the way he spoke carried confidence, the dangerous kind that usually came from knowing exactly what you were talking about.
The room around them had gone tense.
Not loud.
Not chaotic.
Just tight.
Every member of the pack standing around could feel it. The mission they thought they understood had suddenly become something completely different. Moments ago they had been ready to storm warehouses and dismantle bombs. Now Liam was telling them those bombs were fake and the real ones were already planted somewhere in the city waiting to explode.
And the worst part?
Something about his tone made it impossible to ignore him.
Liam didn’t react to the silence surrounding him. He only looked at Irina and spoke softly.
"Bring a map. Let me mark the areas for you."
Irina blinked once before nodding immediately.
"You heard him," she said sharply toward the others. "Get the map now."
Nobody hesitated.
One of the wolves rushed off instantly while the rest remained standing around the large hall, their eyes constantly moving between Liam and Irina. Some looked doubtful. Some nervous. Some outright confused. But none of them dared interrupt again after seeing the way Irina was taking Liam seriously.
Tatiana stood near the staircase quietly, arms folded lightly beneath her chest, her eyes drifting toward Liam again. Even from here she could see the cloth around his fingers. Her chest tightened slightly at the sight.
That was her fault.
The thought kept replaying in her head no matter how much she tried pushing it away.
A few moments later the wolf returned carrying a large rolled map. He quickly spread it across the massive table in front of Irina.
The entire room naturally gathered closer.
Liam stepped forward.
His wrapped fingers flexed slightly before he grabbed the marker resting beside the map. Even that simple movement looked uncomfortable now. The injury clearly hurt more than he allowed himself to show.
Without wasting time he uncapped the marker and started circling locations.
One.
Then another.
Then a third.
The room grew quieter with every mark he made.
The pack members exchanged glances among themselves. None of them understood how Liam had managed to get all this information within a few hours. The locations, the timing, the details. It didn’t make sense.
But nobody questioned him.
Not openly anyway.
Not when Irina herself was standing right beside him watching every move seriously.
Meanwhile, away from the table, Alina finally made her way toward Tatiana.
"Hey baby."
Tatiana turned her head slightly and forced out a soft smile when she saw her friend approaching. It wasn’t convincing though.
Alina noticed instantly.
Her brows pulled together slightly as she stopped beside her.
"What’s wrong with you?" she asked quietly. "You look sad."
Tatiana let out a long sigh before lowering her eyes toward the floor.
"It happened again," she muttered softly. "He tried to touch me and I snapped... I broke his hand."
The moment those words left her mouth, understanding flashed across Alina’s face immediately.
"Oh..."
Her expression softened instantly.
She already knew.
Tatiana wasn’t talking about anger.
She wasn’t talking about violence.
She was talking about that.
That uncontrollable reaction she had carried for years now. The thing she hated most about herself.
Alina gently patted her shoulder.
"It’s alright."
But Tatiana shook her head slowly.
"No it’s not," she whispered. "He’s been looking at me weirdly since then. I think he’s very mad."
Her voice dropped lower near the end, almost uncertain.
And honestly, she didn’t blame him.
He helped her.
Trusted her.
Protected her.
And the moment he touched her shoulder she shattered his hand like he was attacking her.
Alina sighed softly before leaning slightly against the wall beside her.
"It’s understandable if he’s upset," she said honestly. "He doesn’t know what you’ve been through."
Tatiana looked away quietly.
That was the problem.
Nobody knew.
And even when they did... things usually became awkward after.
Most people either pitied her or treated her differently.
She hated both.
"I just..." Tatiana sighed again before sitting down slowly on the stairs. "I wish I acted differently. I wasn’t even useful to his plan."
The guilt in her voice this time was impossible to miss.
Alina followed her and sat beside her naturally, resting her head lightly against Tatiana’s shoulder while speaking gently.
"It’s okay baby girl," she murmured. "We’ll explain everything to him later and apologize properly."
Tatiana stayed quiet.
Alina smiled faintly before nudging her a little.
"He seems like a nice guy honestly. I’m sure he’ll listen."
Tatiana didn’t reply immediately.
Her eyes drifted toward Liam again.
He was still standing over the map, explaining something to Irina while the others listened carefully. Even injured, even exhausted, he somehow still looked composed.
That only made her feel worse.
Then suddenly someone walked towards them.
A woman.
Tall.
Curvy.
Very curvy.
Alina’s eyebrows immediately shot upward.
"Damn," she muttered without shame as she stared openly. "I thought your ass was big but hers is bigger."
Tatiana instinctively looked toward the woman too.
Anya was walking across the hall carefully, clearly uncomfortable with the amount of attention she was receiving. Her long figure moved naturally beneath the fitted clothes she wore and every step made her curves stand out even more.
Even Tatiana had to admit it.
The woman’s body was insane.
"Yeah," Tatiana admitted quietly. "She has a crazy curve."
Then she added casually.
"Maybe that’s why Liam picked her up."
Alina’s entire expression changed immediately.
She turned toward Tatiana so fast her hair shifted over her shoulder.
"What do you mean Liam picked her up?"
Tatiana shrugged lightly.
"Liam went to the club and came out with her," she said. "I guess she’s some kind of hookup or something."
The moment those words left her mouth, Alina slowly turned her head toward Liam again.
Then toward Anya.
Then back toward Tatiana.
And suddenly her expression became extremely interested.
Anya finally reached the two of them after weaving through the busy hall, her eyes still scanning the room like she didn’t fully trust it yet.
Everyone here moved like they were part of something bigger.
Something she didn’t understand.
Something dangerous.
She slowed when she got close to Tatiana and Alina, her fingers lightly brushing her own arm as she hesitated for a second, then she spoke softly.
"Please... can I stay here?"
Alina was the first to properly look at her up close.
And the moment she did, she froze for a fraction of a second.
Up close, it was even worse.
Anya’s face was striking. Soft features but sharp enough to feel intentional. Her eyes carried a calm kind of beauty that didn’t try too hard but still pulled attention without effort. And her body... it wasn’t just noticeable, it was impossible to ignore even if you tried.
Alina blinked.
Then without thinking, she blurted out,
"Wow... not only does she have a mad body, she’s damn pretty too."
The words came out completely unfiltered.
Instant silence followed for half a second.
Tatiana immediately turned and hit Alina on the head.
"Oi!"
Alina winced and rubbed her head. "What? I was just saying—"
"Stop talking nonsense," Tatiana cut in quickly, already shifting to make space. She moved slightly on the steps and patted the spot beside her. "Sit here."
Anya didn’t hesitate.
She quickly sat down beside them, almost like she needed the support. Her posture was straight at first, but her eyes kept moving.
Left.
Right.
Up toward the hall.
People walking.
Voices calling out.
The energy of the mansion.
Everything felt too active. Too serious. Too sharp.
Fear flickered in her eyes before she could hide it.
Tatiana noticed immediately.
Her expression softened slightly.
"Eh... it’s okay," she said gently, leaning a bit toward her. "Nobody is gonna hurt you."
Anya glanced at her, then nodded quickly.
"Okay..."
But her body didn’t fully relax.
She still looked tense.
Still alert.
After a moment, she finally asked, her voice quieter now but full of confusion,
"Where are we?"
She paused, looking around again.
"Why are you people talking about stopping bombs from exploding?"
Her brows furrowed slightly.
"Are you guys like... a secret government organization?"
Tatiana shook her head immediately.
"No," she said calmly. "We are not the government."
She leaned back slightly, glancing toward Liam for a second before continuing.
"We’re just a family trying to stop some very bad people from hurting innocents."
Anya processed that slowly.
A family.
It sounded simple.
But nothing about this place felt simple.
Before she could ask anything else, Alina suddenly leaned forward again, her curiosity clearly not satisfied.
"So..." she said, squinting slightly at Anya, "are you like a hookup Liam paid in the club or something?"
The question landed instantly.
Anya’s eyes snapped toward her.
Her brows furrowed sharply.
"What?"
There was a clear edge in her tone now.
Not loud.
But irritated.
Offended.
Even if she didn’t fully understand the situation, being called a hookup was something she didn’t like at all.
She looked Alina up and down briefly, then gave her a small, cold glare.
Tatiana immediately stepped in before it could escalate.
"Hey," she said quickly, raising a hand slightly, "what my friend means is... why did Liam bring you with him?"
Alina clicked her tongue softly but didn’t argue this time, still watching Anya with obvious curiosity.
Anya’s expression relaxed a little again.
Then she exhaled.
Her shoulders dropped slightly.
"Liam helped me," she said quietly.
Tatiana and Alina both paused.
Anya continued, her voice more steady now.
"I owed him my life."
That shifted the energy between the three of them instantly.
Alina’s teasing expression faded into something more thoughtful.
Tatiana looked at her properly now, studying her face with more seriousness.
A brief silence followed.
Then Alina glanced at Tatiana.
Tatiana glanced back.
Same thought.
Wrong assumption.
She’s not a hookup.
Alina finally spoke again, her tone softer now but still curious.
"What did he help you with?"
But before Anya could answer properly, Tatiana suddenly stood up.
"Alright that’s enough."
Alina blinked. "Huh?"
Tatiana grabbed her by the ear.
"Oi—wait—what are you doing?!"
Tatiana started dragging her slightly away.
"Must you know about everything?"
Alina hissed, struggling lightly. "I’m just asking questions!"
Tatiana didn’t even look back.
"Ask less."
"Tatiana! My ear—!"
Anya sat there for a moment, watching them both move away slightly, confusion still lingering in her eyes.
But strangely...
It felt a little less scary than before.
Just a little.
