Treasure Hunting System: The Ocean Conquerer

Chapter 1082 - 442: Targeting_3

Chapter 1082 - 442: Targeting_3

No wonder the Mouth of Devourment is so invested in them.

This enmity has inexplicably grown so vast.

...

Alka walked on the winding walls, most of which were surrounded by plants resembling coral vines.

These plants were obviously not ordinary; they were covered with poisonous thorns and were very resilient.

It should be a defensive handiwork of the Seed of Life.

He followed behind two Demon Hunters and could already see from a distance where the walls extended, revealing buildings with flat roofs like towers.

Through the mountain peak obstructing his view, the top of the wall was displayed.

The footsteps of the two Demon Hunters quickened, and they rare said to Alka, "We’re almost there, just ahead."

The trio sprinted, able to see on the walls people dressed somewhat similarly to Demon Hunters.

And they were curiously staring at Alka, who followed the two.

Finally bypassing a protruding cliff, Alka managed to see the Demon Hunting Fortress.

The entire fortress was built relying on a steep mountain peak.

The fortress’s towers were directly attached to the rocky cliff.

At the top of the mountain, some gigantic city defense structures could be seen; walls lined with towers, filled with various elite soldiers, and defensive apparatus were set across the entire area.

The defense here was like iron.

Alka already saw layer upon layer of various defensive Spells pasted everywhere.

And at the top of the main tower of the Demon Hunting Fortress, there was a massive gray-purple Gemstone, emitting an eerie light, its glow flowing around in lines.

But Alka could feel it was a form of energy, likely protecting the Demon Hunting Fortress.

Passing through the base of the tower standing on the wall, Alka officially entered the realm of the Demon Hunting Fortress.

Two soldiers in black Battle Armor immediately blocked Alka.

These two soldiers were obviously not pure bred humans; they had some odd constructs on them, clearly sub-species of humans.

They looked at Alka, asking sternly, "Who are you? What business do you have here?"

One of the two Demon Hunters who accompanied Alka spoke, "We brought him, he is here to find the Grand Judge."

Hearing this, the soldier looked sternly at Alka, seemingly prepared to inquire further.

Then, a low solemn voice came from behind them.

"Make way, he is my guest."

At the sound of this voice, the surrounding soldiers and the two Demon Hunters immediately bowed low: "Your Excellency, Grand Judge."

The Demon Hunter Judge, whom Alka had met before, walked over from the passage that had been cleared.

"Long time no see, why did you come directly here?"

Without saying much, Alka reached into space, then took out a box containing a Treasure and handed it over.

"Thank you for your previous help, I’ve personally come to return the borrowed item."

The Demon Hunter Judge took it, opened it for a look, nodded. Then handed it to a lieutenant behind him.

"You only need to give it to your Archbishop, he will naturally deliver it into my hands, there’s no need for you to come personally."

Hearing this, Alka shook his head with a smile, saying, "Just like you said before, I became curious about this place, and besides here, there’s temporarily no very safe place outside, so we came."

Upon hearing this, Grefar rather agreed, nodded, understanding.

In his position, he naturally knew many things, including how the Mouth of Devourment hates Alka and them.

Because even he would use this matter to ridicule the Mouth of Devourment, and not just once.

Being targeted by such a sly and disgustingly non-demonic creature, running around outside would be very dangerous.

Either stay on the Islands with a church or in places like this facing the Mouth of Devourment directly; it’s safer.

"A wise choice, but are you alone? Not with your companions?" Grefar asked curiously.

After all, the Demon wouldn’t care about these things.

"No, they are in the port city, I came alone first."

Grefar nodded, not asking further.

That’s when a heavy and sharp horn sounded, piercing the air and entered their ears.

With the sound rising, the soldiers on the walls and everywhere promptly entered battle-ready states.

Grefar obviously didn’t have time to chat with Alka, saying, "Those Demons are attacking again, you should enter the fortress first."

"Can I follow on top? I haven’t seen such a scene."

Hearing these words, Grefar looked at him, nodded, "Salaro, you take him."

Then turned to Alka, saying, "Follow him, he’ll explain some of the rules here. Do not act rashly, act together with the military."

Alka nodded to show understanding; he certainly wouldn’t attack recklessly without knowing anything.

After speaking, Grefar quickly departed.

Alka turned his head.

From where he stood, he could see a vast mass of red in the distance; those Demons were charging.
