Chapter 96 The Mysterious Dream Valley (Part 2)
“We can’t keep running like this,” the woman said, panting. “We need to find a place to hide.”
Yun Muhan's nod was concise and powerful, his eyes revealing a hint of decisiveness. His gaze swept quickly and meticulously across the surroundings like a hawk searching for its prey, leaving no corner unchecked.
His experience told him that in such an unknown environment, a suitable hiding place could mean the difference between survival and death.
Just as their gaze pierced through the mist, trying to catch any possible clues in Dream Valley, their eyes were drawn to a cave not far ahead.
The cave is inconspicuous, its entrance cleverly concealed by dense vines and tangled plants, as if it were part of nature, blending seamlessly with its surroundings.
If it weren't for Yun Muhan and the mysterious woman's vigilance and experience, they might have missed this hidden entrance.
The cave entrance, illuminated by fluorescent light, appeared deep and mysterious. Vines entwined around the entrance like guardians, and green leaves and flowers swayed gently in the breeze, seemingly telling the secrets of the cave.
"There!" Yun Muhan pointed to the cave, and they quickened their pace, rushing towards the hidden entrance.
The cave was dark and damp, filled with the smell of earth and rock. Yun Muhan and the mysterious woman moved swiftly and silently, their eyes gleaming with alertness.
After finding the large rock, they quickly and cautiously hid behind it, pressing their bodies against the cold stone surface and trying to keep their breathing as faint as possible to avoid attracting any attention.
The shadow of the stone provided them with a temporary refuge, and their eyes peered through the cracks in the stone, nervously observing every move outside.
After the roar faded into the distance, the glowing plants in the cave gradually dimmed, as if their light had some mysterious connection to the existence of that creature.
As the roars faded into the distance, the atmosphere inside the cave seemed to ease slightly, but Yun Muhan and the woman remained on edge.
They knew that in this unknown place, any moment of relaxation could have fatal consequences. They exchanged a glance, confirming each other's condition, and then remained vigilant.
Yun Muhan's ears keenly picked up every subtle sound in the cave, from the echo of dripping water in the distance to the whistling of the wind through the cracks in the rocks.
The woman gently touched the ground with her staff, feeling the earth tremble, trying to find any possible signs of danger.
They only relaxed a little when the glow of the fluorescent plants subsided and the cave regained some tranquility.
Yun Muhan let out a soft breath, feeling his heartbeat gradually calm down. The woman also released her grip on the staff, a look of relief appearing on her face.
However, they all knew that this was only temporary safety. In this Valley of Dreams, filled with unknowns and dangers, every step had to be taken with extreme caution, and every decision could be a matter of life and death.
“We need a plan,” Yun Muhan said in a low voice.
The woman nodded in agreement and pulled a map from her pocket—the one they had prepared before entering Dream Valley. In the dim light, they carefully studied the map, searching for possible exits and safe routes.
“Look here,” the woman said, pointing to a mark on the map. “There’s an old legend about a secret passage that leads out of the valley.”
Yun Muhan stared at the map, his brows furrowed. "But the location of this passage is very vague; we don't have enough information to determine its exact location."
After a moment of silence, the woman said, "We have no choice but to try to find this passage. At least it's a glimmer of hope."
Yun Muhan took a deep breath and nodded. They tidied their equipment, making sure they had all the necessities, and then carefully left the cave, embarking on their journey to find the secret passage.
The secrets of Youmeng Valley are like a giant net, tightly enveloping Yun Muhan and the mysterious woman.
Their determination and courage were their only weapons, enabling them to continue their journey through this unknown land. Hope, like a faint light, flickered in their hearts, guiding them to find a way out of this valley filled with uncertainty.
Yun Muhan and the woman moved with extreme caution in Youmeng Valley, their movements almost silent, like ghosts flitting through the mist.
Their steps were light and cautious, each footstep carefully calculated to avoid disturbing any unknown creatures lurking in the shadows. They knew that in this mysterious valley, even the slightest mistake could have disastrous consequences.
The fog in the valley grew thicker and thicker, as if it were alive, swirling around them and obstructing their vision.
This forced them to rely even more heavily on the blurry map, whose markings and lines became indistinct in the fog, requiring them to concentrate to barely discern the direction they were heading.
A woman's intuition becomes especially important at this time; her senses seem to be more acute than those of ordinary people, enabling her to capture subtle clues and guide them to avoid potential dangers.
Yun Muhan frowned, his eyes searching for direction in the thick fog, his hand gripping the hilt of his sword tightly, ready to deal with any potential threat.
The mysterious woman followed closely behind, her eyes shining with determination. Her intuition told her that although the road ahead was difficult, as long as they persevered, they would surely find a way out.
The Valley of Dreams appears even more mysterious and dangerous in the mist, with the surrounding plants and rocks appearing and disappearing in the fog as if they could turn into terrifying monsters at any moment.
In the silence, Yun Muhan and the woman's heartbeats became exceptionally clear, their every breath filled with tension and anticipation.
Their footsteps moved slowly through the Valley of Dreams, each step filled with awe for the unknown and a yearning for survival. They knew that only by relying on each other could they find a way out of this valley full of unknowns and dangers, and escape this dreamlike world.
“We should head in this direction,” the woman said softly, tracing her finger across the map to an area marked with ancient ink marks.
"Legend has it that the entrance to the passage is hidden in a dense forest, where there is a strangely shaped old tree. Under the tree is a stone slab, and under the stone slab is the entrance to the passage."
Yun Muhan and the woman followed the direction the woman pointed out, and soon entered a dense forest. The trees were tall and ancient, with lush foliage that almost blocked out the sky, making the forest even darker.
