Chapter 79: The Order to Leave
Chapter 79: The Order to Leave
"What else can I do? Am I some kind of jinx reincarnated?"
Upon hearing Lin Rusi's words, Luo Lan let out a cold snort and looked at her indifferently.
This blatant provocation made her lose all desire to retaliate, and she calmly turned her gaze to the side.
Seeing Lin Rusi's appearance, Luo Lan was even more dissatisfied and wanted to say something else, but her arm was grabbed by another hand.
She turned around in confusion to look at the other person, and frowned even more indignantly when she found it was Sun Jiayi.
“I’m telling the truth. Wherever this person goes, bad luck will follow. If you don’t believe me, just look at her poor sister.”
"You mean Lin Ruqin?"
Luo Lan nodded vigorously, then looked away and turned to look at the seat next to her, seemingly wanting the other person to think about the other person's approach.
Sun Jiayi didn't think about it, but looked at Lin Rusi with trust, and only after a while did she turn her gaze back to Luo Lan.
"So you just don't believe what I'm saying? Lin Ruqin is really pitiful."
The princess seemed to know something, her face growing increasingly gloomy. She opened her mouth several times, but each time she was forced to swallow it back by the teachings she had received since childhood.
But after a moment, she couldn't help herself and looked directly at Sun Jiayi, who wasn't making much of a move.
"She's been here for a while now, why don't we let Miss Lin go back?"
Although it was a question, the unquestionable words still left people somewhat dissatisfied.
Sun Jiayi frowned, and was about to say something to ease the tension between the two sides when Luo Lan interrupted her again.
"If we're talking about Lin Ruqin's worst situation, it's probably that she ended up marrying someone else..."
"I've said it before, some things shouldn't be said carelessly. Don't spout nonsense in front of others based on your limited knowledge."
"What, are you feeling guilty now that I've exposed you?"
It wasn't that she felt guilty; she just didn't want people to know about so many troublesome things.
Knowing that the more Lin Rusi paid attention, the more enthusiastic Luo Lan would become, she didn't respond and instead looked directly at Sun Jiayi.
Surprisingly, the other party was not swayed by these words and nodded when they met her gaze.
Noticing this change, she couldn't help but let out a soft chuckle.
This caused Luo Lan, who had not yet succeeded, to frown and look directly at the princess beside him.
Sensing something was wrong, the other person couldn't help but raise an eyebrow and look directly at Sun Jiayi beside him.
"If you don't let her leave, don't blame me."
"What is Your Highness doing? Do I need your opinion on how I entertain my friends?"
Lin Rusi did not want the other party to treat the princess like this, bringing shame upon herself.
But since the other party had already done so, she could only include the person in her list of those she needed to protect, preparing to make the princess resent only her.
"Is the princess trying to take me all to herself with her threats and inducements?"
"What nonsense are you spouting now?"
As expected, the princess ignored Sun Jiayi and coldly glanced at Lin Rusi, raising her hand to slap her as a lesson.
But no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't bring her hand down. When she turned her head, she realized that the person who should have been weak and sitting on the bed was now standing next to her.
Sun Jiayi loosened her grip on her hands and let out an even more helpless sigh.
"Princess, I am not feeling well today, and I am in great pain right now. Please leave now."
"Are you trying to get rid of me? You actually chose her over me?"
The princess's voice rose higher and higher, revealing her anger and her desire to win Sun Jiayi back.
But her face didn't change at all; in fact, she even showed a more mocking look as she pointed to the gate not far away.
"Okay, very good. Don't regret it later."
“The people of my Sun family would never do anything they would regret. Please remember, Princess, that Lin Rusi is a friend whom I, Sun Jiayi, have chosen.”
Princess Lin'an's face darkened upon hearing this, but she didn't say much to Sun Jiayi. Instead, she looked at Lin Rusi again.
Sensing the fierce gaze, she felt no fear whatsoever. She simply gestured for him to leave and then ignored him, gently escorting Sun Jiayi back to bed.
But she refused to go back. Instead, she watched as the other person went straight to their room before turning her gaze away and giving the person next to her a gentle smile.
"Please excuse my poor appearance. The people in my household are too fond of reading people's expressions, afraid of causing even the slightest trouble."
"Jiayi, there's no need to say that. After all, she is a princess. It's normal that ordinary people wouldn't dare to stop her."
Knowing that Lin Rusi didn't mind or get angry about what had just happened, Sun Jiayi breathed a sigh of relief and glanced calmly at the seat next to her.
Feeling the warmth beside her, she habitually took it, took a sip, and then realized that there were no servants in the room. She immediately smiled slightly at Lin Rusi.
"This should be my job, why should I let you, a guest, take care of me?"
"Didn't you say we were friends? Why are we acting like strangers now?"
Upon hearing her question, Sun Jiayi smiled gently again.
Seeing the gentle smile on her face, Lin Rusi smiled slightly as well, and got up to leave.
But just as he was about to make a move, he was grabbed by that slightly warmer hand.
"I don't know why they came today. They usually don't want to see me unless it's absolutely necessary."
"Is it possible that it's because of your troublesome younger sister?"
Sun Jiayi frowned, wanting to say something, but feeling weak, she couldn't speak and lowered her head in silence.
Noticing that the other person was in low spirits, Lin Rusi knew that she had said something wrong. She coughed lightly and changed the subject to other things.
"By the way, did the imperial physician say how long it will take to recover? There are many places I want to visit, but it's too boring to go alone."
"The imperial physician did indeed say when, but I'm afraid my body will need some more time. If Rusi can't wait, she can bring others with her."
Upon hearing this, Lin Rusi jokingly remarked that she didn't have many friends.
Staring at her in astonishment, Sun Jiayi wanted to say something comforting, but then she heard the other person chuckle again.
"Actually, people who would leave after being told a few things can't be considered friends. I should thank them, otherwise I would still be kept in the dark."
"I'm afraid only you would think that way. If other people actually encountered this, they would have cried themselves to death."
Lin Rusi simply shook her head helplessly, then looked away and continued telling the interesting stories she had heard in her previous life.
Seeing Sun Jiayi laughing continuously because of her, she also slightly curled the corners of her mouth.
I've never been this happy in either of my lives. I wish it could last a little longer.
Lin Rusi realized her own thoughts and felt somewhat helpless. Why was she thinking so pessimistically? She had already changed a lot of things and would not repeat the same mistakes.
