Chapter 35 Countdown
Chapter 35 Countdown
Wu You was engrossed in watching something for an unknown amount of time when a person suddenly appeared beside him, startling him. Looking up, he saw that it was the young novice monk whom the abbot had sent to invite them earlier.
The young novice monk performed a Buddhist salute: "Excuse me, esteemed guests. The abbot has sent me to invite you to the meditation room. This way, please." With that, he led the way.
"It seems Abbot Wu has successfully analyzed the poison and is calling him over for a formal detoxification," Wu You thought to himself.
"Huahua, hurry up! Abbot Wule must have succeeded. Let's go there quickly," Wu You urged anxiously.
Wu You and Li Lianhua quickly got up and followed behind the little novice monk.
The group arrived at Abbot Wule's courtyard. The wooden door to the meditation room was already open, and the young novice monk bowed and withdrew.
Wu You greeted Li Lianhua, "You should go in quickly. I won't go in and disturb you. I'll wait for you in the courtyard. If anyone comes looking for the abbot, I'll tell them to wait and come back later."
"Okay, wait for me to come out, then we'll go home together." Li Lianhua nodded and walked towards the meditation room. Having performed the final scene of the play, Li Lianhua wanted to make it perfect before returning home to farm.
Wu You stared intently at Li Lianhua's retreating figure. Just as he stepped across the threshold, he suddenly felt a sense of unease rising from the bottom of his heart, as if the world did not welcome him and rejected him.
Although Wu You didn't know what it felt like to be rejected by the world, that was what came to mind at that moment, and she felt it was very appropriate.
Wu You instantly looked in the direction of the main hall she had come from, as if she had seen something unbelievable. She touched her chest, took a breath, and her expression remained calm.
As the door was about to close, Wu You called out, "Li Lianhua, you will get better. After you get better, have you thought about what you want to do?"
Hearing Wu You's voice, Li Lianhua stopped closing the door. Meeting his gaze, which was somewhat different from his usual cheerful demeanor, she suddenly felt a pang of sadness and replied, "If I'm really well, I should travel the world and mind my own business."
"That's good. Then wherever you are, you must be safe and happy." Wu You didn't give Li Lianhua a chance to speak, and said with a forced smile, "Alright, go in quickly, the abbot has been waiting for a long time."
Li Lianhua didn't know what to say, so she slowly closed the door.
Looking at the closed door, Wu You finally lost control of herself. Her legs went weak and she took several steps back before her heels hit the stone bench in the courtyard and she finally stopped.
It took a while for the sudden palpitations to subside. Looking up at the door again, I saw a red countdown timer on it: 2:56:32, and the seconds were still decreasing.
Wu You sensed that he could no longer remain in Li Lianhua's world; it was time to go home, back to the modern world. Fortunately, they were kind enough to give him three hours to prepare for his departure.
Not knowing when Li Lianhua would come out, Wu You decided not to wait there. He thought he should go back to Lianhua Tower first and use this time to write a few letters to give to him later.
Wu You looked at the closed door of the meditation room again, lingered for a moment, and then strode towards the main hall.
Looking at the still smiling Buddha, Wu You wondered if his wish had come true. But if it had, then Li Lianhua's poison from the green tea could be cured, and he could return to being the highly skilled Li Xiangyi.
Even if he no longer wants to be Li Xiangyi, he will still be the healthy and happy Li Lianhua.
Wu You did not enter the main hall, but walked to the middle of the courtyard, bowed in the direction of the main hall, and then hurriedly went down the mountain.
On this side, Abbot Wule watched Li Lianhua enter and sit down, poured him a cup of tea, and poured himself a cup as well, slowly drinking it.
He took a sip, put down his teacup, and asked, "Sect Leader Li, do you know the background of Benefactor Wu?"
Li Lianhua was puzzled by Abbot Wule's question, so she put down her teacup and dusted off non-existent dust from her sleeves: "I don't know the specifics, but I heard that they came out of the deep mountains to find their relatives."
Seeing Li Lianhua's nonchalant expression, he shook his head helplessly and continued to ask, "Sect Leader Li, did you investigate the medicine that Benefactor Wu brought before? What is its purpose?"
"She only showed it to me through the box; I didn't even touch it. But it should be as she said, a treatment for a congenital illness. Monk, what's wrong with you today? You don't usually have so many mute words."
"I won't banter with you. Listen carefully, this medicine is the antidote for the poison of the green tea. Do you understand? Now, the poison in your body can finally be cured."
Li Lianhua paused in her teacup, then continued drinking before speaking softly, "Monk, please stop joking. Who doesn't know that the poison of green tea is the most potent poison in the world? There's no antidote."
"Besides, Wu You doesn't even know who I am, so how would she know that I'm poisoned by the Jade Tea? Furthermore, we've been living in the same courtyard for over a year. How could someone who came from deep in the mountains possibly find an antidote for the Jade Tea poison?"
“A monk doesn’t lie. Sect Leader Li, you should take a look at this antidote yourself.” Wu Liao pushed the two wooden boxes in front of Li Lianhua and casually opened the lids of both boxes.
Two green pills appeared in front of Li Lianhua.
One of the darker green ones had been partially removed, presumably by Abbot Wu when he was studying its medicinal uses. The other one was intact and clearer than the first, with an overall bluish-green color.
The moment it was opened, the rich medicinal aroma caused the poison in her body to begin to dissipate. This discovery made Li Lianhua believe that this was indeed the antidote for the poison in the green tea.
"It's actually true. No wonder it's called 'Azure Clear Pill.' I thought it was named after the color 'green,'" Li Lianhua muttered to herself.
"Monk, I want to go out and ask her what happened. How could she have made the Biqing Pill, the antidote for the most poisonous poison in the world?" Li Lianhua stood up and wanted to go out.
Wu quickly pressed down on Li Lianhua's shoulder with his hand: "This matter cannot be explained in a few words. Benefactor Wu is waiting for you outside. The most important thing now is to cure Bi Cha's poison before going out. We can talk about it again then."
"Alright, alright, monk, please begin," Li Lianhua urged, eager to get out and resolve all the doubts.
"Alright, sit down first. I will go and get the golden needles. This time, I will definitely remove all the poison from your body. After some time, with the help of medicine, Master Li's internal energy cultivation will also return to its peak."
Wu Liao was also excited, finally able to see the once dazzling Li Xiangyi again; the damage from the poison of the green tea was truly too great.
"Hurry up and go, I'll wait here."
