Bizarre Cultivation: Starting from Being Beaten Up by Reality

Chapter 120 Exchange Students

Chapter 120 Exchange Students

Niu Dadan took out a twisting bag from his waist.

He gestured for Lin Fan to be quiet, then opened a corner of the bag and showed it to him.

Lin Fan saw a blood-stained gray rabbit through the opening. "Wait, when did you catch this?"

Niu Dadan lowered his voice, "Just doing it on the spur of the moment."

As soon as the bag was opened, the two patrolling pests began twitching their noses and searching around.

They seem to be very sensitive to the taste of blood.

Niu Dadan opened the bag and let the injured rabbit jump down on its own.

"Who!" the beast asked, but its attention was immediately drawn to the injured rabbit.

Sticky saliva dripped from his long, protruding mouth, revealing his teeth.

At first, the two were holding guns and keeping a watchful eye on their surroundings, but they couldn't resist any longer. They dropped their guns and pounced on all fours.

While they were tearing apart the rabbit, Lin Fan and Niu Dadan quietly slipped into the house from behind.

"Brother Lin, let's split up and search. I'm familiar with this place and won't be discovered. Brother Lin, I'll leave that direction to you, and I'll return this treasure to you."

Niu Dadan lowered his voice and returned the invisibility cloth to Lin Fan.

Lin Fan donned a concealment cloth, and his figure vanished into the darkness.

This room used to be a spacious reception hall, but now it has been divided into several rooms. The doors of those rotten wooden rooms are tightly closed, and it is unknown what is inside.

In the middle area, three teenagers, slightly younger than Su Ran, were playing some kind of dominoes around a table, wearing only underwear. The gray-white dominoes were thrown out and fought against each other on the table.

Lin Fan calmly looked at the three people, who were clearly wetland people based on their clothing and build.

One of them suddenly went berserk, scattering all the dominoes on the ground, and said in a trembling voice, "Why haven't Uncle Liangchen and Uncle Liangwu come back yet? The master said that if the offerings can't be collected, we'll have to take their place!"

The youngest child tried to comfort him, but was pushed away by another child, who said, "Aren't you worried? Anyway, there will only be two sacrifices at most, it won't be your turn!"

A domino rolled to Lin Fan's feet. He picked it up gently and rubbed it in his hand. The material felt a lot like animal bone.

The third child stepped forward and separated two of his companions who were about to fight. "Time's almost up. If we don't do the work the adults have told us to do, we're all doomed."

Hearing this, the first child finally calmed down from his fear. The three of them skillfully opened a door and each of them dragged a person out of it.

These people were emaciated and looked blank, their eyes bulging out from their extreme thinness. The three children dragged the three adults with ease, demonstrating their incredibly light weight.

Upon seeing the three people, Lin Fan gasped in surprise, covering his mouth. He tugged at his belt, only calming down after feeling the Soul-Suppressing Pearl clear his mind of emotions. He recognized all three.

They were all villagers from Bailin Village, whom the original owner had met a few years ago. The original owner was also a cold person, so he didn't know how they left the village. They probably sold their land to Lin Fugui because of some financial difficulties and went to Lin Fugui to make a living.

I never expected to appear here!

Seeing how thin they were, reduced to skin and bones, Lin Fan first thought of Sun San Niang, who was also so thin and had contracted syphilis. But upon closer inspection, the two were different. Sun San Niang clearly had a better complexion than them, while they seemed to be on the verge of death.

Lin Fan immediately understood why they were acting this way.

The three children hung them from a frame that was originally intended to restrict their movement, but now it was just to help them stand up.

"These few don't seem to have much left to absorb. Should we switch to a few more energetic ones first? Otherwise, we'll get scolded again if someone dies."

"If you want to switch, then switch. I don't like those crying and jumping around. Wait a while, until they're not so hard to catch, then I'll take them."

"Yes, they're slippery like eels. If you're not careful, they'll get away, and you'll have to waste precious medicine to catch them."

These are clearly children, yet they describe their fellow human beings as if they were talking about animals.

The eldest child took out a blood-red pill, stuffed it into his mouth, and bit down hard. A bright red liquid seeped through his skin and was swallowed down his throat.

The child's body began to change rapidly. Fleshy membranes grew between his arms and body, black downy hair grew on his back, and his nose turned upside down to resemble a pig's nostrils.

In just a few breaths, it transformed into a giant bat with some humanoid features. Because of its short stature, it was much smaller than the giant wolf, but this bat was even more terrifying than the giant wolf.

Apart from the gray and white shorts, it was completely unrecognizable from its original appearance.

With a flap of its wings, the bat leaped onto a villager from Bailin Village, its sharp teeth piercing the back of his neck as it began to suck his blood.

Only then did the man from Bailin Village begin to react, his breathing becoming rapid, his eyes bulging as he stared intently at the ceiling. But that was all. He seemed completely out of his mind, exhibiting only basic stress responses.

The bat's belly didn't swell after sucking blood; instead, round spheres bulged on its back like a toad's. These spheres were crystal clear, red with a hint of gold inside.

The other two children weren't idle either; they took small knives and carefully began peeling the already round blood cells off their companion's back. This action caused the bat to let out a painful scream, but it didn't stop it from sucking blood.

Each time a blood cell the size of a ping-pong ball is peeled off, a blood hole of the same size is left on his back.

And so it went, until all three villagers of Bailin had been drained, and the children had collected a whole plate of blood cells, before they finally stopped.

The bat pulled out its blood-stained fangs and shrieked, "Damn, that hurts so much! Couldn't you guys have been a little gentler?"

They coldly locked the three Bailin villagers back up, then left with the blood ball.

Lin Fan now understands why the people behind this went to such lengths to bring the wetland people to Bailin Village and then bring the Bailin villagers to the wetlands. Just as he wasn't particularly moved by the unfamiliar mechanical beings, these children were even more indifferent to the unfamiliar Bailin villagers.

If the people being held here were the wetland people they knew, these children probably wouldn't have accepted this cruel work so easily.

A somewhat inappropriate phrase popped into Lin Fan's mind: "exchanging children to eat," or perhaps "student exchange." This was probably something the person behind it did to avoid unnecessary trouble. Or perhaps there were deeper reasons, but Lin Fan couldn't fathom them.

Taking advantage of the three children leaving, Lin Fan arrived at the wooden door where Bai Lin Village was imprisoned. These wooden doors were not locked at all; they were simply secured with bolts to prevent them from being opened from the inside.

Lin Fan pushed the door open a crack and looked inside.
