When Lin Chuyue left the Lin family villa, it was already dark. The night breeze was cool and carried a slight chill on her face. Her hands clenched slightly; although she appeared calm on the surface, her heart was churning with turmoil.
She knew that this confrontation with Lin Zhengguo had completely severed the relationship between father and daughter. However, there was no turning back.
Her phone vibrated at that moment. She picked it up and saw that it was a message from Li Zhanchuan.

"Chuyue, let's talk."
Lin Chuyue was slightly taken aback; she hadn't expected Gu Yanchuan to contact her first. Their last meeting was when she and Li Zhanchuan had teamed up to deal with the Shen Fang incident. Now, she had publicly sided with Li Zhanchuan, while Gu Yanchuan… she didn't know what his current stance was.
"What do you want to talk about?" she asked indifferently.
Gu Yanchuan said in a low voice, "About you and Li Zhanchuan."
Lin Chuyue tapped her phone lightly with her fingertips. She suddenly realized that Gu Yanchuan wasn't as calm as he seemed on the surface. He was always a strategist and wouldn't easily express his opinion on anything unless he had already made a decision.
"Okay," she agreed. "Location?"

Half an hour later, Lin Chuyue arrived at the Yunding Club.
As soon as she entered the private room, she saw Gu Yanchuan standing by the window. His tall figure was elongated by the night view reflected in the floor-to-ceiling windows, making him appear exceptionally aloof. He was wearing a dark suit, which made him appear calm and reserved, but his deep eyes revealed unspeakable emotions.
He turned to look at her, remained silent for a few seconds, and then said, "You've changed."
Lin Chuyue sneered and sat down on the sofa opposite her: "If this is what you're here to talk about, then we don't need to chat."
Gu Yanchuan frowned, his tone carrying a barely perceptible hint of suppressed emotion: "I don't understand why you're standing with Li Zhanchuan. He's not the ally you imagine him to be."
"And what about you?" Lin Chuyue looked him straight in the eye, her tone sharp. "Are you my ally?"
Gu Yanchuan was taken aback by her question, and his eyes flickered slightly.
Lin Chuyue didn't give him a chance to think and continued, "You don't remember what happened in your past life, but I do. You once stood on Lin Yun's side, on Shen Fang's side, and even... on the side that hurt me."
Gu Yanchuan's hand slowly tightened, his fist turning slightly white.
He stared at her and said in a deep voice, "Lin Yun and I are not what you think."
"But what was the result?" Lin Chuyue sneered, "In the end, you still stood with her."
The air fell silent instantly, heavy and suffocating.
Gu Yanchuan took a deep breath and said in a low voice, "Chuyue, I don't mean to be your enemy. I just want to tell you that Li Zhanchuan is not someone you can easily trust."
Lin Chuyue's eyes flickered slightly, and she suddenly found it somewhat amusing: "Are you worried about me, or are you trying to win me over?"
Gu Yanchuan pursed his lips but did not answer.

She stood up, her tone calm: "If you really want to help me, then don't try to persuade me to turn back. I won't change my mind."
After saying that, she turned and left, not giving Gu Yanchuan any further chance to speak.

As she stepped out of the Yunding Clubhouse, a night breeze blew in her face, carrying the chill of early spring.
Just as she was about to walk to her car, a familiar figure emerged from the shadows, leaning against the black sedan with a slender frame and an indifferent gaze upon her.
Li Zhanchuan.
Lin Chuyue was slightly taken aback: "Why are you here?"
Li Zhanchuan didn't answer, his gaze falling behind her: "What did Gu Yanchuan talk to you about?"
Lin Chuyue raised an eyebrow and said calmly, "He advised me not to stand with you."
Li Zhanchuan's eyes darkened slightly, but a cold smile appeared on his lips: "How did you answer?"
Lin Chuyue took a step closer to him, meeting his gaze, and said calmly but firmly, "I said, I will not change my mind."
Li Zhanchuan raised an eyebrow slightly, then suddenly reached out and gently hooked her chin with his long, slender fingers, forcing her to look at him.
"Lin Chuyue, don't you trust me too much?" His voice was low and dangerously hoarse.
Lin Chuyue didn't evade the question, but smiled and said, "Don't you want me to trust you?"
Li Zhanchuan stared at her for a moment, then suddenly let go of her hand and chuckled softly: "Sometimes, I really don't know if you're smart or just too stubborn."
Lin Chuyue replied without hesitation, "Stubborn."
Li Zhanchuan looked at her with a deep and complex gaze, but in the end he said nothing. He simply opened the car door and gestured for her to get in.
Lin Chuyue did not refuse, got into the passenger seat, and the car slowly drove away.
The car remained silent for a long time until the red light came on. Suddenly, Li Zhanchuan spoke: "If one day you find that standing by my side will cost you even more... will you still be so determined?"
Lin Chuyue tilted her head slightly, looking at the sharp profile of his face, and said in a calm and unhurried tone: "Li Zhanchuan, I have already lost my life once. In this life, there is nothing that I cannot bear."
Li Zhanchuan's fingers tightened slightly, a deep meaning flashing in his eyes.
The green light came on, the car restarted, and headed towards the unknown future.
