Nirvana Heiress: Reborn and Returning to Stir Up a Storm

Chapter 303 A New Beginning

Chapter 303 A New Beginning

Lin Chuyue sat at her desk, the surface littered with the documents Gu Yanchuan had just given her. The documents were densely packed with detailed investigative information about Deng Wenhao and the forces behind him. Her gaze lingered on the words, but certain details stirred her thoughts, deepening her unease and confusion.

"What kind of force is controlling all of this behind the scenes?" she murmured to herself, her fingers unconsciously tracing a document on the table. It contained information on Deng Wenhao's various affiliated companies in the business world. Every piece of data seemed complex and elusive, as if an invisible force was controlling these companies, and she was trapped in this invisible web.

Gu Yanchuan's arrival brought her some comfort, but that comfort could never dispel the doubts in her heart. Every word Gu Yanchuan spoke carried a calm and steady tone, as if he already knew the course of events. However, Lin Chuyue could not completely entrust herself to him, after all, there were too many secrets behind Gu Yanchuan that she did not know.

She knew she could no longer rely solely on anyone, not even Li Zhanchuan, whom she had once trusted implicitly. After all, the trust between them had already been quietly cracked by the impact of her rebirth. The only person she could rely on was herself.

The shadow of the past

Just as she was pondering, the tranquility of the night sky outside the window was broken by a series of urgent knocks on the door.

Lin Chuyue got up and opened the door. It was Shen Fang, whose expression was more serious than usual. She didn't seem to have restrained herself after the last conflict; instead, she exuded an air of urgency.

"Is there something you need?" Lin Chuyue asked coldly.

A flicker of hesitation crossed Shen Fang's eyes, but she quickly regained her composure. "I know you've been feeling complicated lately, and things are more troublesome than you think." She paused, her tone turning somber. "Deng Wenhao has already started to make his move against you."

Lin Chuyue's heart skipped a beat, and she immediately became alert. "How did you know?"

Shen Fang gripped her arm tightly, her eyes urgent. "I've been by his side for so long, I know his connections. You have to be careful, his people have already started to turn their attention to you. You thought he would stay silent, but he's been waiting for the right moment, and he'll strike as soon as you let your guard down."

Lin Chuyue felt a heaviness in her heart and quickly stood up. "What exactly does he want to do?"

Shen Fang's expression was complicated. "What he wants is to completely control your company and dominate the industry. And you are just a pawn in his plan." She looked deeply at Lin Chuyue. "Whether you believe it or not, I can only tell you that he knows everything about your past, even your father Lin Zhengguo's choices back then. He didn't intend to let you live; he wanted to use you to destroy your family."

Lin Chuyue froze, a chill running through her. She didn't understand why Shen Fang knew all this. Shen Fang saw her confusion and continued, "You don't know, the people behind Deng Wenhao aren't just business rivals, they even include your father's old acquaintances. They have deep connections, and you are the victim of that game."

Lin Chuyue was deeply shaken. Her hands clenched into fists unconsciously, her nails almost digging into her palms. Her father, whom she had always been so proud of, the father she had always tried to redeem, had actually been involved in all of this?

"Are you threatening me?" She took a deep breath, her anger gradually building. A meaningful smile appeared on Shen Fang's lips. "Threatening? No. I'm just telling you the facts. Do you think you can handle Deng Wenhao's conspiracy alone? He's not just involved with your family; there are even more complicated things involved. If you want to live a peaceful life, you'd better listen to me."

Shen Fang's words made Lin Chuyue feel incredibly oppressed. She was stunned for a few seconds, and finally forced back her anger. "What can you do to help me?" she asked coldly.

Shen Fang's smile remained, but the coldness in her eyes did not diminish in the slightest. "I can help you, or I can destroy you. It all depends on your choice. Right now, you are the only one who can disrupt Deng Wenhao's plan. As long as you stand on my side, I can help you destroy everything he has. But if you choose to continue opposing him, I guarantee you will die a horrible death."

A tremendous pressure instantly surged within Lin Chuyue. She knew she was trapped in a situation from which she could not escape. Whichever path she chose, it was fraught with danger.

emotional rift

As Shen Fang left, Lin Chuyue's mood grew increasingly heavy. She sat back down at her desk, staring at the pile of documents before her, and suddenly felt that all her efforts had been a futile struggle. She tried to find the safest path, but only sank deeper and deeper. Deng Wenhao, Shen Fang, and even her former father had all become obstacles she couldn't overcome.

Her gaze fell on the photograph on the table—a picture of her and Li Zhanchuan. At the moment it was taken, everything seemed so beautiful. But now, she felt a strange chill emanating from it.

"Zhanchuan..." she murmured his name softly, suddenly unsure if she could still rely on him. In her memories, he was so strong and fearless, always giving her endless courage. But now, would he, as he said, always stand by her side?

She couldn't help but recall Gu Yanchuan's words: "I'll stand by your side whenever you need me." Beneath his seemingly cold exterior lay a tenderness she hadn't noticed. But could this affection be her support in this endless darkness?

She took a deep breath, deciding to temporarily set aside all her confusion and reorganize her thoughts. Facing this war without gunfire, what she needed was calm and decisiveness. She knew that whatever the future held, she had to learn to stand on her own two feet, no longer depending on or being led by anyone.

At this moment, her decision became even more resolute.
