Nirvana Heiress: Reborn and Returning to Stir Up a Storm

Chapter 22 The Truth About My Father

Chapter 22 The Truth About My Father

Lin Chuyue walked into her father Lin Zhengguo's office, her steps steady and powerful. Though outwardly calm, her heart was churning with uncontrollable emotions. Today, she would face the truth that had been kept hidden all along, confront the fog her father had woven, and witness firsthand the darkness in which he had been involved.

In the office, Lin Zhengguo was sitting behind his desk, flipping through a document. Seeing Lin Chuyue enter, he paused for a moment, then put down his work and gave a slightly gentle smile: "Chuyue, what brings you here all of a sudden?"

Lin Chuyue took a deep breath, calmly looked at her father's face, and did not answer immediately. Instead, she walked straight up to him, stopped, and looked directly at him: "I know about you and Shen Fang."

Lin Zhengguo's expression changed slightly. He frowned and a hint of tension flashed in his eyes: "What do you know?"

“I know you have always supported her and even participated in her schemes.”

Lin Chuyue's voice was cold and firm, her tone unwavering. "You think I don't understand anything, but the truth is, you've long been colluding with Shen Fang, using me as a pawn, and believing her rumors."

Lin Zhengguo's expression changed. He looked up at her, his eyes filled with surprise and unease: "Chuyue, how could you have such thoughts? How could I possibly be involved in her conspiracy? I've always done these things for you."

"For me?" Lin Chuyue chuckled, her voice somewhat grating. "Do you even know me? Are you really doing this for me? Everything you've done isn't for my own good at all, but for your own. You listened to Shen Fang and treated her as a trustworthy partner, while I was just a tool in your deal with her."

Lin Zhengguo was slightly taken aback; he had never imagined his daughter would criticize him so bluntly. He stood up, his eyes somewhat lost: "Chuyue, I... I just hope you can become stronger and stop relying on others. I know you've been spoiled since childhood, but this world isn't gentle; it will hurt you. Only by becoming strong can you protect yourself."

Hearing this, Lin Chuyue felt as if she had been struck a heavy blow. She looked deeply at her father, her eyes no longer filled with the tenderness of the past, but with endless disappointment: "Do you really think that what I lack is 'strength'? You have never truly understood me, nor have you ever cared whether I could bear these things. You just try to 'help' me in your own way, doing what you think is right."

She paused, a cold glint in her eyes: "You thought that by making me suffer, I would become stronger, but you're wrong. You not only pushed me into Shen Fang's trap, but you also made me lose the most basic trust I had in you."

Lin Zhengguo's face began to turn pale, and a trace of guilt appeared in his eyes: "Chuyue, I really didn't mean it. I never thought things would turn out like this. I just wanted you to become independent and stronger. I know you are capable, but you rely too much on others."

Hearing this, Lin Chuyue felt a pang of bitterness in her heart, but she didn't let her emotions show. Instead, she calmly said, "You didn't see my inner perseverance and hard work; you only saw what you thought I lacked. You never truly treated me as an independent person; you were always making decisions for me, choosing for me, and planning for me. And all of this ultimately became a deal between you and Shen Fang."

Her words were like sharp needles, piercing Lin Zhengguo's heart. His gaze began to wander, as if he couldn't bear his daughter's accusations. "Chuyue, I... I never thought things would come to this. Shen Fang told me you were too weak, too dependent on others, so I..."

“Depend on others? You don’t understand. I have never depended on anyone. What I depend on is you! Your support as my father.” Lin Chuyue’s tone was unwavering, as cold as ice. “But you chose to stand on Shen Fang’s side, treating me like a pawn that you could manipulate at will.”

Lin Zhengguo froze, a hint of regret and self-blame flashing in his eyes. He lowered his head and said almost hoarsely, "Chuyue, I really didn't expect things to turn out this way. I thought everything I did for you was for your growth."

A trace of sorrow flashed in Lin Chuyue's eyes. She looked at her father's back, but her heart remained unusually calm: "You have never truly understood me, and Shen Fang has never truly cared about me. You are just carrying out your own plans, and I am merely a part of your interests."

Her tone gradually calmed down as she continued, "You can choose to stand on my side now and stop participating in Shen Fang's conspiracy. Otherwise, I will no longer trust you."

Lin Zhengguo suddenly looked up, seeing the resolute calm in his daughter's eyes, and felt as if his heart was being torn apart. He sighed deeply and said in a low voice, "I...I know I was wrong, I will correct it. I will not do anything for Shen Fang again."

Lin Chuyue looked at him, her emotions complex and hard to discern. Finally, she nodded gently: "I believe you will make the right decision, but I no longer need you to 'plan' my future. I will handle the rest myself."

She turned to leave, but stopped at the door and turned back, saying, "Whatever you choose, I will walk my own path. You no longer have the chance to influence me, Father."

Lin Zhengguo stood there, watching his daughter's figure recede into the distance, the pain in his heart almost suffocating him. He knew he had lost the most precious thing—his daughter's trust.

Stepping out of the office, Lin Chuyue's emotions gradually calmed down. She knew that her relationship with her father had undergone an irreversible change. Although disappointed, she did not choose to completely sever ties, but instead gave her father a chance, hoping at least that he would understand what he had done wrong and make the right choice.

She took out her phone and sent a text message to Gu Yanchuan: "I need your support. Things are going to get complicated."

A few seconds later, Gu Yanchuan replied succinctly and directly: "I've always been by your side, ready at any time."

Lin Chuyue's lips curled into a slight smile, her resolve growing ever stronger. She was no longer the girl who could be manipulated at will; she would uncover all the conspiracies and fight for her own future. From now on, she would take control of everything.
