Chapter 4: Hidden Blades, Head-to-Head Struggle

Chapter 4: Hidden Blades, Head-to-Head Struggle

After receiving the anonymous text message, Lin Yun immediately informed Shen Fang. Upon hearing the news, Shen Fang's face darkened considerably.

"She actually dared to check the accounts?" Shen Fang gritted her teeth and slammed her hand on the table. "Where did Chu Yue learn these tricks? Wasn't she the one who was least interested in these things before?"

Lin Yun panicked: "Mom, what should we do? If she finds out the truth, we're finished!"

Shen Fang calmed down, her gaze turning cold and sharp: "Don't panic, it's far too early for this to be exposed. She's only found a little bit of the evidence; she can't possibly get solid proof so quickly."

She paused, then continued, "However, this shows that we really need to be vigilant. Yunyun, go and contact our trusted confidants in the company and have them clean up all the documents they have, especially the financial records for the last three months. There must be no loopholes."

"Okay." Lin Yun nodded in agreement, but she was still a little worried. "Mom, what if Chu Yue continues to investigate?"

"Don't worry, I'll take care of it myself." Shen Fang's lips curled into a cold smile. "Since she dares to make a move, I'll let her know that the Lin Group is not a place she can mess around in."

Meanwhile, in Lin Chuyue's office.

Looking at the financial data on the screen, she had roughly figured out Shen Fang and Lin Yun's methods. Although these methods were covert, in her memories from her previous life, these loopholes were eventually discovered by the outside world, directly leading to the collapse of the Lin Group's reputation.

"Simply exposing their methods isn't enough to make them pay the price," Lin Chuyue thought with a cold laugh.

She dialed a number; the caller was an investigation expert she had brought from abroad, who was also one of her friends from her past life.

“Mark, I’ve sent you a set of data. Please help me track down the specific information of these anonymous accounts as quickly as possible, find as much as you can.”

On the other end of the phone, Mark readily agreed: "Don't worry, I'll give you the results in three days at the latest."

After hanging up the phone, Lin Chuyue rubbed her temples. She knew that this evidence alone wasn't enough to completely bring down Shen Fang and her daughter, but she wasn't in a hurry. This time, she would use a more covert method to lead them step by step into the abyss.

“If Father finds out about these loopholes… Shen Fang’s position will be shaken,” Lin Chuyue murmured. “However, now is not the best time.”

Her gaze fell on an employee list, several names circled in red. These were Shen Fang's confidants, but also the most easily swayed.

"It seems it's time to make them waver."

An unexpected "help"

That afternoon, while Lin Chuyue was organizing documents in her office, her secretary knocked on the door and came in, handing her a new document: "President Lin wants you to sign it."

Lin Chuyue took the document, casually flipped through a few pages, but keenly noticed some problems. It was an application for departmental fund adjustments; the amount wasn't large, but the wording was very vague.

She smiled and put the document aside: "I understand. I'll sign it and send it back later."

After the secretary left, Lin Chuyue immediately dialed Lin Zhengguo's number: "Dad, I have some questions I'd like to ask you about the department's funds."

Lin Zhengguo's voice on the other end of the phone carried a hint of relief: "It's good that you took the initiative to inquire about these matters. Come to my study after get off work, and we'll talk about it in detail."

Lin Chuyue hung up the phone, her heart filled with mixed emotions. She knew that the document was likely sent by Shen Fang on purpose, to test her, or even to set a small trap. But she also knew that this was a rare opportunity to use it to gain more support from her father.

That evening, the Lin family hosted a family dinner. As usual, Lin Zhengguo sat in the head seat, with Shen Fang and Lin Yun sitting next to him on one side, while Lin Chuyue sat opposite him. The atmosphere was subtle and calm.

Lin Zhengguo spoke first: "Chuyue, how have you been adjusting to the company these past two days?"

Lin Chuyue smiled slightly: "It's alright. I was a little busy at first, but I'm gradually getting into the swing of things."

Shen Fang raised her wine glass, her smile gentle: "It's truly gratifying for us parents that Chuyue is willing to return to the company. However, there are many rules in the company, so Chuyue, please don't work too hard. If you don't understand anything, just ask us."

Lin Chuyue glanced at Shen Fang and smiled faintly: "Thank you, Mom, but I still want to figure out the company's affairs on my own. After all, you and Yunyun are usually quite busy, and I don't want to cause any trouble."

Shen Fang's expression stiffened slightly, but she quickly regained her composure: "It's good that you think that way."

Lin Yun put down her chopsticks, her tone slightly provocative: "Sister, I heard you've been checking the company's financial statements lately? These things are very complicated. As a newcomer, you should be careful not to make any mistakes."

Lin Chuyue casually picked up a piece of food and said in a calm tone, "It is indeed quite complicated, but I have discovered some interesting points. For example, the flow of some money is not clear, and we may need to investigate further."

Upon hearing this, Lin Yun's hand trembled, and she almost knocked over the wine glass in front of her.

Shen Fang quickly chimed in, "Chu Yue, financial matters are always handled by a professional team, so you don't need to worry too much about it, lest it interfere with your main work."

Lin Chuyue smiled and said, "Mom is right, but there are still some details I need to figure out so that I can learn faster."

After listening, Lin Zhengguo gave Lin Chuyue a meaningful look and nodded, saying, "It's good to have ideas. It won't hurt to investigate thoroughly. Chuyue, I'm entrusting this department to you, and I have high expectations for your performance."

Shen Fang's expression turned somewhat unpleasant, but she didn't say anything more.

After the dinner, Lin Chuyue had just returned to her room when she received the first batch of tracking results from Mark. The email clearly showed the details of a bank account, and the account holder was a shell company under Shen Fang's name.

"As expected, all this money will inevitably come to Shen Fang." Lin Chuyue sneered as she saved the data into her computer.

However, at that moment, her phone received a text message from an unknown number:

"Lin Chuyue, investigating too deeply will not do you any good."

She stared at the text message for a few seconds, a cold smile curling at the corner of her lips: "Looks like someone's starting to get restless."

She deleted the text message, her gaze icy.
