Chapter 432: Thea Shaw Confronts Others

Chapter 432: Thea Shaw Confronts Others

Rowan Donovan’s face flushed as she apologized to Hailey King: "I’m sorry, Miss King, we were just having a casual discussion..."

Hailey King was a long-time employee of the company and a core member of this department, someone she couldn’t afford to offend.

Seeing Rowan Donovan apologize directly, Hailey King looked slightly pleased, glanced at Thea Shaw as she walked over, and continued, "Before the company reaches a conclusion, what are you discussing? Don’t think what you see is the truth. What do you mean by ’you think’? Just because you think it, is it the truth?"

This was obviously directed at Rowan Donovan’s first comment about Alan Grant’s matter.

The surrounding colleagues gradually returned, glancing at Hailey King as she scolded, not surprised. After all, she often did this sort of thing, using her seniority as leverage.

Rowan Donovan was the youngest in the department, so who else would they scold?

However, now two even younger ones had joined, it seemed Hailey King might shift her target in the future.

She was establishing her authority.

Rowan Grant, perpetually meek, had tears welling up in her eyes as she was criticized.

Young girls usually have thinner skin, especially when being scolded publicly.

Thea Shaw observed this, frowning slightly.

Then she spoke up, "Isn’t it normal for me and Rowan Grant to discuss what just happened? Why aren’t we allowed to discuss it once it’s happened? We didn’t think anything of it; we were just discussing the facts that occurred, Miss King."

The last two words were uttered with slightly more emphasis.

The office instantly fell silent.

So quiet that the sound of a pin dropping could be heard.

Rowan Grant stared in disbelief at Thea Shaw standing up to a senior employee.

Thea Shaw remained calm and collected.

She was merely stating a fact.

If she were truly an intern, she would understand workplace rules and bear it.

But she wasn’t.

Even if Rowan Grant caused trouble, she had the capability to handle it, so she naturally wasn’t afraid to speak up.

Hailey King looked at Thea Shaw, laughing in anger: "Oh, you’re quite something. First day in the company, and such a big temper. How could our company accommodate such a big deity like you?"

"Is it up to you to decide if you can accommodate me?" Thea Shaw replied calmly, "You’re a senior, and I’m willing to respect you, but what’s the reason for trying to silence us when we’re just discussing something? I wasn’t hired by you. Does one word from me mean you want to fire me? Do you even have that authority?"

After she said this, Hailey King was left speechless.

Indeed, she was merely a long-time employee without any actual authority. What right did she have to restrict others’ freedom?

Everyone watched with interest; it wasn’t often you saw a confrontation between new and old employees.

In the Kensington Group, due to Old Mr. Kensington’s situation, there was a general sense that the longer you stayed, the more you could do as you wished.

Elder Kensington was too old to concern himself with such trivial matters.

Thea Shaw had found online that the Kensington Group wasn’t very friendly to new employees, with only Rowan Donovan being a newcomer in such a large management department.

And her work, based on Thea Shaw’s observation today, also seemed disproportionately large.

Thea Shaw had at least been to Ford Enterprises, a much larger company. There were more employees and even busier, yet the spirit and atmosphere were completely different.

After Thea Shaw said this, she had no intention of continuing to argue with Hailey King. She pulled Rowan Donovan to sit down and, in front of Hailey King, continued to express interest by asking, "Tell me the details about Manager Woods and Vivian Doyle."

Rowan Donovan: "..."

She glanced at Hailey King beside her, who looked as if she wanted to eat her alive, but simply didn’t have the courage.
